Green Love

Elise, a serious-minded environmentalist, hikes into the forbidding forest of Blackwood to find the clonal colony of aspen said to exist at its centre. Her journey is as much a struggle to break free of the overprotectiveness of her older sister and make peace with the loss of their parents as it is a mission to save the woods from the threat of deforestation. Once arrived at the aspen grove, she seems to have stumbled across more than she bargained for. Is someone, or something, out to get her? Will she make it out of Blackwood alive?

Dead Letter

Rosie’s new job as a letter carrier is much harder than she expected. The discovery of a haunted letter box certainly doesn’t make it any easier. For years, Olive has been waiting for the right person to talk to, and it seems Rosie might just be the one.

Seaside Escape

Helping men acquire wives from an ocean of beautiful selkie is a generational thing with Fiona. It’s part of being a witch. Until the day Kinley swims into her world and turns everything she ever knew on its fin. Through Kinley and her selkie sisters, Fiona finds love, a new outlook on her life, and a chance to rectify her past.

Dressed in Wolf Skin

A werewolf with no pack is in danger of becoming the most powerful addition to a skinwalker’s wardrobe. She’s rescued by a witch who lives alone in the desert. Although both are stubborn and independent, they develop feeling for each other while the witch nurses the werewolf back to health. However, the skinwalker still wants his trophy and will do anything to claim it.

Unraveled

Unlike other witches, Summer doesn’t make her own spells. A former foster kid, she learned not to waste anything. She hacks old enchanted items and sells them as good luck charms to poor college students. Her one mistake is in giving a powerful charm to her crush, Imogen, a brilliant biology grad student. That gets Summer noticed by another witch on campus, Imogen’s science professor. Now she must either give in to the professor’s blackmail or risk her wrath. Either way, Imogen’s life hangs in the balance.

Excerpt

I sighed and stretched my legs as much as I could in the small bed. I was tired, weary, and hurting all over. I could no longer feel my feet, and I had blisters between my toes. Even my hair hurt!

I cursed the day when I’d given in to my best friend’s pleas to come with her to Spain and walk St. James’s Way. I had never been able to resist her, and I thought it would only be a bit of fun, walking a few days until we’d reached Santiago de Compostela. I couldn’t have been more mistaken. Anna wanted the whole experience, so our first stop was Roncesvalles, up in the Pyrenees. We’d been walking for weeks since then, only stopping once when I begged her for a day of rest. Now we’d finally reached Galicia and were on the last leg of our journey, just a few days left to walk.

“I’m going to take a shower. What about you?” Anna sounded far too fresh after today’s part of the Way.

I looked at the bed next to mine, where she lounged, not a hair out of place that betrayed the miles we’d walked. I let myself resent her a little. “I would have to get up for that, right?”

“I’m afraid so, yes.”

“Then I’ll pass. I’ll take one later when I can feel my legs.”

Anna laughed. “You whiner! See if I leave any hot water for you.” She got up from the bed in a smooth movement and left, her laughter still in the air.

The truth was that I avoided showering with her in fear of giving myself away. It was one of the scenes I loved picturing when I was home alone: Anna in the shower, the water cascading over her breasts, running over her belly, and then making rivulets on her legs. All of that skin free for my perusal, only protected by a moving coat of water, making her shine more than she already did on her own. If I were home, one of my hands would have made its way between my legs—I was already wet from daydreaming about it—and it would pick up a rhythm, some of my fingers venturing farther and—

“Sorry, I forgot my shampoo.” Anna’s voice surprised me out of my reverie and I blushed. Being caught daydreaming by the person you were fantasizing about wasn’t my idea of a good time.

I still hadn’t moved when she came back. I listened with only one ear as she rummaged through her backpack and got dressed without caring about the other people in the room with us. Unlike me, she’d never had any complexes about showing her body in public, it was one of the things I both loved and found exasperating. I was still lying down, almost asleep, when I was hit with a damp towel and told to get clean and dressed because we were going out.

“What do you mean, out?” I looked up at Anna, who was wearing her jeans and a tight shirt showing quite a bit of cleavage. Definitely not dressed for staying in the hostel and resting.

“You’ve been grumpy for days, Sophie, and I can’t stand it anymore. We’re going out for dinner and a few beers, and we’ll take a day off tomorrow.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. So far Anna had been a drill sergeant about walking, and I’d had to beg for that day of rest. I must have been more tired than I’d thought for her to notice and propose a day off. Suddenly the prospect of getting up didn’t seem as bad as it had a few minutes before.

“That sounds like heaven right now.” I got up from the bed and looked for my toiletries and some clothes. I was about to leave when Anna spoke again from her spot on the edge of her own bed.

“Make sure you choose the second cubicle in the row; the pressure is amazing.”

“You fiend! You weren’t worried about me at all, were you? You just want an excuse to use that shower again tomorrow.” I was joking, mostly. Anna wouldn’t have proposed the day off if she wasn’t worried about me, but the fact that the pressure was good probably helped her make the decision.
