It’s a cliche’ really, falling in love with my best friend, my very straight best friend. And to add more complications, I’m a football player, about to be drafted. We’re manly men. We aren’t supposed to be gay. But I am and I love the one person I’ll never have. Until fate forces us together six years later. It’ll be both a fantasy and hell on earth, playing along Crush—the only man who will ever truly own my heart.

Crush

He dropped a bomb on me. Then he left, never looking back. Our friendship—ruined until he lands back in my life. His presence is just as big as ever. I never forgot him, or what that one kiss so many years ago still does to my body. He’s here, but is he willing to stay?

Review:

My Only Reason (Love Is Love #1)My Only Reason by Leigh Lennon

                                                   “Friends-to-Lovers Football Romance”

My Only Reason, by Leigh Lennon, is a friends-to-lovers, second chance, adorable, gay for you romance, with an added twist for that added edge-of-seat type of angst that was quite the surprise.  I loved this new read for so many different reasons.  Its strong and mighty football players, its alpha-esque “this is how it is and will be” type-of-strength in lieu of existent bigotry, and its dedicated friends who paved the way for honesty, new love, and the ability to live open and free.

WHOOP!  WHOOP!  Wow, what a great read as this exciting new release was right up my alley.  Great characters, fist pumping action, and, to top it all off, first time slowly percolating quickly developed love.  I took my time with this read as the heart-warming, sports-themed, tearful moments made it completely worth it as a whole.

While it was completely addicting, I had also wished for more depth of the actual separation as that was, in this reader’s opinion, pivotal for the development of their relationship.  In addition, the seemingly endless plot, questionable character development, sporadic uneventful moments, and the need for more editing, collectively still made it a whole-heartedly wonderful read.  I really liked it. 🙂
