“An Emotionally Healing Unique Love Story”

A breathtakingly beautiful, deeply thought-provoking emotional story, with gut-wrenching moments of love, loss and acceptance, uniquely fused together with the nurturing warmth of a very light daddy/boy kink and the need of overall acceptance.  Wow.  This upcoming story rocked me and certainly took me through the ringer that is for sure.  And, I did not see it coming.  At all.  Having read from this series before, it would be a given that I was going to enjoy future stories, as the characters have been fabulous and the storylines addicting with that hint of daddy/boy kink.  But, that doesn’t mean I was prepared for this one.  For this, I went into it blindly, and, boy, was I blown away.

Forecast, by Casey Cox, is a story basically about not judging a book by its cover.  With this mindset, readers are taken through a highly-emotional journey of Hudson, a strongly dedicated, compassionate, beautifully inked individual, deeply mourning the passing of his former love, and that of Liam, a masked, passionate individual, equally in mourning of the passing of his own twin brother.  Together, both men bravely battle pre-conceived public notions to that of their true identity. This story was deep, it was heartbreaking, it was soul searching.  It was amazing.  I absolutely loved it.

Forecast does contain triggers of death and off-page suicide with tender healing recollections, and it was tastefully done.  One of the ways was through the wonderful secondary characters who make frequent cameos and through this, readers are able to be bear witness to the stages of grief but also to the stages of acceptance, healing, and also to that of living.

However.  It is in this reader’s opinion that, there were also moments when there was a need for more story and character development, depth, and clarification.  As this was a unique relationship, a needed one for both Hudson and Liam, I needed to know more of its distinction.  In order to be completely connected and immersed within its uniqueness, I needed to be able to read about it rather than read of it.  It is also in this reader’s opinion that, the amount of deep philosophical inclusion, and a bit of redundancy, while extremely interesting and relevant, took away from the actual pace and development of the core of the plot.  For that, my head began to spin late in the story with a need for a smoother conclusion.

That all being delicately said, I absolutely LOVED this story.  I loved the storyline, the characters, the humor, and the dedication of the brotherhood.  With the extremely light daddy/boy kink, Forecast is a story about acceptance, about love, and, about being at peace with who you are right down to your differences and lifestyle.  I really, really liked it. 🙂
