Don’t Let Go: Broken Boys #1 (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the authors for an honest review.

“Through the Rain Comes the Sun..”

Having recently discovered the upcoming release of a new book from an author who I had read before, I looked forward to reading this new book as well.  A new book that while it’s theme is a delicate and sensitive one, it’s a book that I went into wholeheartedly and for many different reasons.  The first one being, well…clearly due to its authors.  The second reason being, due to its theme, as it is one that is a close and personal one for me, as its storyline is one of mental illness.  Because of this, I readily went into this new read with an open mind, an open heart, and, an open soul.  As one of the reasons for actual reading, speaking for this reader, is for escapism, there is a strong possibility that there exists other readers who do it for the same reason.  Therefore, I predict that Don’t Let Go will be one of those books that will enlighten, soothe, as well as nurture many different readers.  So..this book.  THIS BOOK will undoubtedly be a huge and unexpected new read.

Don’t Let Go by T.N. Nova and R. Phoenix is undeniably an absolutely incredible story that is written with such breathtakingly tangible words that managed to languidly ooze right into this readers soul, as it is a story heavily laden with moments of raw, gripping, heart-breaking, soul-searching, desperate, yet beautifully loving and necessary moments as well.  It is a story that focuses on the beginnings of a healing journey of two men who valiantly attempt to function through life as they battle their own demons, as they desperately cling to the only saving grace that surprisingly enables each man to begin to welcome their own source of light. The story is one that enables the reader to share times of raw, emotional, and realistic moments that the two intrinsically strong, wonderful, nurturing, dedicated main characters battle with on a daily basis, as mental illness is something that is almost always present, and, as these two men discover ways of adjusting to be able to function through life, each serves just as much as a role model for other individuals who search for ways to rise above such challenges.

Dylan Dossi and Oz Walter are two individuals who, while appear to be different, are actually quite the same.  As each battle their own demons, for very different reasons, each appears to be the ying to the other’s yang.  Each serving as almost like that necessary soothing, comforting, warm blanket that they both crave and desperately need to be able to claim that lighted, peaceful, calming aura.  The story was brilliantly written as the emotional times of both characters seemed to seep right through the monitor (or page) as Dylan and Oz braved each of these moments.  As the beginning of this plot of this particular storyline was pretty smooth, it was successfully able to incorporate a well-rounded viewpoint of mental illness, not only through the actual characters, but also through the secondary characters as well, who I already love to pieces.  Through this story, the writing enabled this reader to understand, sympathize, empathize, and equally yearn for the calming peace the main characters had so desired.  I absolutely adore Dylan and Oz and as a result of this read of the beginnings of their journey through dark, hopeless, and desperate moments, I found myself immersed within a wave of heartfelt emotions, ranging from sympathy to happiness to sadness to giddiness to absolute hopefulness.

Don’t Let Go is one powerful and necessary story about mental illness.  It allows the reader to become one within the world of those who battle to simply function on a daily basis.  Battling the need for normalcy is a very difficult one as there is almost a constant battle between wanting to and being able to, and, as this reader went through a wide range of emotions, it was a joy to see both Dylan and Oz successfully reach their light and be able to soak it in with that one person who is able to understand, nurture, and guide the other towards more times of peace.  That being said, while there does exist various typos, and a need for some character and setting development, this story as a whole outweighed those glitches, as the light of this story was able to outshine any of the present glitches.

Don’t Let Go is a dark and hopeful story that while it does contain some difficult-to-read moments, it also contains great characters, and, sizzling, humorous moments as well.  It’s plot being so detailed and varied enables multiple and distinct interweaving parts to be incredibly done.  I had to sit back, at times, in order to allow each moment to settle, thereby enabling their coherent and logical connections to be made, as their detailed and deep meanings had stopped me in my tracks and had amazed me.  I absolutely loved it, and, eagerly await more of this series..:)
