I’ve lived my entire life to the beat of one simple motto.

Work hard to play hard.

A no brainer, really.

As one of five partners to a nationwide security firm, I do whatever it takes to get the job done, making sure to reward myself with whatever the hell I want.

Sure, the job comes with its own set of dangers—but none of the bullets or knives come close to the peril of one alluring young woman.

Casandra Martinez—my little angel—is a risk all on her own.

Turning my world from black and white to vibrant; she’s a sensory overload and far from simple.

But the biggest problem is far worse than just a kink in my routine.

No. She’s off limits. Forbidden.

Unwilling to heed the warning, I’m drawn to her light.

And like a moth to the flame, I fall.

Only one question remains…

Will her love be my salvation or my demise?

Dear reader,

Acts of Salvation is book two in the Men of WRATH series but could be read as a Standalone. WARNING (OR INVITATION): AOS contains mature language and gasp-worthy scenes.

Author Bio:

Writing about yourself is hard. Writing about yourself in the third person is even harder.

Instead of giving myself all kinds of accolades and touting my writing prowess (or lack thereof), I’ll just share some of the bits that make me who I am. Sound good? Good.

Reading has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, my mother would walk into my room well into the wee hours of the morning only to have to tell me to put my books away and sleep.

If you’re a bibliophile like me, I’m sure you can relate.

I never stopped reading nor did my love for it diminish. As time passed, my reading tastes evolved and I found myself devouring romance novels left and right (find me on Goodreads). So naturally, when I found myself unfulfilled with my learned profession, I turned to writing the books I loved to read.

It started as a hobby but with my husband’s encouragement, it grew into what it is today, the start of my new, and very much loved career.

I hope that my story serves as an inspiration and that regardless of where you are in life, you are able to follow your dreams and give yourself your very own happily ever after.

With Love,
Eleanor Aldrick

How to Forgive by Susan Hawke (Arc) Review!

How to Forgive (Lovestrong, #6)How to Forgive by Susan Hawke

“A Powerfully Emotional Story about Love and Acceptance”

Oh my word!  MY WORD!  A tremendously emotional and empowering story of two wonderful young men just took this reader by storm.  A damaged journey spanning a decade, containing so many nail-biting and breathtaking dips and turns, hit me like a ton of bricks.  The storyline, the plot, the characters, the arc..was immense.  I adored the main and secondary characters to bits, from the gender-fluid dedicated young man to the strong, mighty, and protective drag queens, the characters were fabulous.  I am floored as to how much I loved my most recent read.  With it’s gripping, gut-wrenching, painful, nail-gnawing moments, I lost a serious amount of fluid as a result of this incredible read.

How to Forgive, by Susan Hawke, is a heart-rending, tremendously moving story filled with emotional, shocking, and exceedingly beautiful moments with equally humorous, squeal-worthy, adorable brevity lead by extremely protective drag queens and a gruffly yet loving four-legged furball.  With a storyline dowsed in intense bravery and sacrifice, readers are able to fend off additional difficult-to-read triggers of bullying and abuse, to allow grandiose moments of gender identity, love, and, forgiveness to permeate their temporarily mushy minds as characters battle their way through varying moments of acceptance, love, and, devotion.

SQUEEE!  I crazy loved the main characters, Grayson and Wolf, and, could-not-get-enough of them with their yummy chemistry, I found them to be exactly what the other one needed.  Literally.  While I needed a road map of all the secondary characters, many serving as cameos from previous stories, I am already addicted to them and definitely need to immerse myself within their own perspective stories.

GAH..this story was a-ma-zing with such intense theme(s) of sexual identity, acceptance, love, inclusion, and..forgiveness.  Even though I would have liked a bit more development with respect to the main character’s actual relationship as well as the ending, I absolutely loved it! 🙂

The Alpha’s Mate by Susan Laycock (Arc) Review!

The Alpha's Mate (Penhul Pack 1)The Alpha’s Mate by Beth Laycock

“A Unique, Heart-Warming, and Exciting Shifter Story”

The Alpha’s Mate, by Beth Laycock, book 1 of the Penhul Pack Series, was such a good story!  I loved it!  I’ve always gravitated toward stories containing shifters, but, this one is probably one of the most uniquely addicting ones that I have read.  With a heart-breaking, intriguing, exciting, nail-biting, sizzling, and absolutely squeal-worthy storyline, it turned out to be such a great read.

SQUEEE!  I loooved my most recent read and cannot wait for more, as the plot already overflows with so much of the unknown for so many of the primary and secondary characters, who consist of humans, shifters, and, witches.  It was such an exhilarating read as much of the human and shifter discoveries were done right along with the reader, of which is typically known in such shifter stories.  As Addison and Drake slowly discovered what’s in store for their future, I could barely contain myself, as I read through this saddening, mesmerizing, and, uplifting story.

Even though this was overall a fantastic story, it is in this reader’s opinion that, there is still a need for further development in a few areas, as the plot seemed to be somewhat uneventful, as the reactions of various individuals, to such shocking discoveries, seemed to have been glanced over instead of being addressed.  Hopefully, they will be address in future books, as they would add to such a powerful story.

That all being said though….I still LOVED The Alpha’s Mate, with such a uniquely beautiful storyline, an exciting plot, and, such intriguing, strong characters that all collectively have this reader anxiously awaiting more from this shifter-world.  I really, really liked it! 🙂

A Good Bad Idea Story, Book 4

Xander Dandridge

Everybody thinks my best friend is in love with me, including my cheating ex-boyfriend. When I have to see that jerk at my boss’s wedding, bringing Jules as my fake date is the perfect revenge. But why stop there? After all, if everyone is going to accuse Jules and I of being together, why shouldn’t we enjoy ourselves as friends with benefits?

Ohhhh, it’s because our arrangement makes me fall in love with him for real. Oops?

Jules Tourneau

I’ve ignored my feelings for Xander so many years that I’m convinced I only love him as a friend. It’s totally a coincidence that thinking of him with his awful ex-boyfriend makes me burn with raging hellfire, right? When we’re fake dating, I’m obviously going to have fun teasing him with obnoxiously cutesy nicknames, like calling him my pookie—crap, I’m actually in love with Xander, aren’t I?

How do you tell your best friend, “Surprise! I just figured out I’ve been stupid in love with you forever,” without sounding like the world’s biggest idiot?

Love Fool is the fourth book in the Good Bad Idea series. This novel features a friends to lovers and fake boyfriends romance. Full of cute sweetness and sexy fun, every story ends with a satisfying HEA and no cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.

Excerpt:

Xander Dandridge

After dealing with my umpteenth disaster for the day, I had officially had it. Today could go fuck itself. So could tomorrow. I was done with everything.

The only thing that would make me feel better would be getting pounded into the mattress until I forgot about what was wrong. But I had broken up with my boyfriend, Josh, last week after I found out he had been cheating on me for two months, so that wasn’t happening. Asshole.

Since I couldn’t fuck away my stress, I went to my best friend’s apartment instead. Jules was the only person who could make me laugh, even when I was ready to burn down the world around me. He was the one constant in my life I could count on to never let me down. I could indulge my messy emotions around him without having to maintain my flawless facade of always being cool, calm, and collected. He was the only one who knew how exhausting it was for me to be perfect and make everything look easy all the time.

Jules opened the door, grinning when he saw me. He looked better in his faded jeans and lavender shirt than anyone had the right to. His mussed blond hair and bright blue eyes were quintessentially Californian, as was his laid-back attitude about all things. Without that, he’d never be able to put up with me being so uptight. Being inseparable best friends since we were eight also helped. “Is there some reason you look like you want to murder me?”

“Just shut up and hug me.”

My best friend enjoyed hugging as much as most people liked sex. He didn’t need to be told twice. After he kicked the door closed, he pulled me into a tight embrace without questioning my need for it or getting mad at me for being bossy. For some reason, that never seemed to bother him.

I wrapped my arms around him, resting my head on his shoulder with a heavy sigh. For the first time since I woke up, the tightness in my chest loosened, and I could breathe again. It meant I could smell his perfume, which he always wore instead of cologne. His logic was they designed it to attract men to women, so it should bring them to him. I used to tease him for it, but I stopped after witnessing it succeed with countless guys over the years. Rather than arouse me, the unique blend of berries, patchouli, and cedar comforted me with its familiarity.

Jules rubbed my back without saying a word. For someone who could talk your ear off, he was surprisingly intuitive about when to be quiet. His calmness helped center me from the chaos that controlled my mind. He really gave the best hugs in the world.

My jaw unclenched as I relaxed into his hold. However, weariness set in as my anger subsided. It made me wish we could curl up together to get some proper sleep. I had slept like shit every night since I had kicked Josh out of our apartment. The idea tempted me, especially because Jules would do anything for me. It was probably weird that I was comfortable enough with my best friend to be fine with a platonic cuddle session, but I was too exhausted to care. I needed sleep more than I needed to respect the social boundaries of acceptable behavior amongst male friends. “Can we do this in bed?”

“Are you seriously asking to snuggle with me?” he asked in an amused tone.

I stepped out of his hold with an annoyed huff. “Listen. I’ve had a shitty day, I’m dead-ass tired, and I know it’s weird, but it would help me feel better. Please?”

“Wow, I never thought you’d beg me to sleep with you,” he teased. I gave him a pained look, which made him turn serious. “I’ll agree on one condition.”

“Which is?”

“You have to tell me what’s bothering you.”

It was a small price to pay for comfort. “Deal.”

His eyebrows arched in surprise. “No argument or bartering? Really?” I crossed my arms over my chest with an unamused frown. “Fine, I’ll quit torturing you. Come on.”

I admired that nothing ever seemed to faze Jules. He was the only person I knew who wouldn’t bat an eyelash at my strange request. Without a word, I followed him into his bedroom.

Love Fool (Good Bad Idea, #4)Love Fool by A.F. Zoelle

“A Beautiful, Exciting, Swoon-Worthy Love Story”

A beautiful story full of love, revelations, and never-ending devotion.  I absolutely loved my most recent read as the unwavering long-time bond between two young men has turned a hopeful story into such a wonderfully amazing read, that in the end, has left me with so many different kinds of warm and gushy feelings.

Love Fool, by A.F. Zoelle, is a lengthy friends-to-lovers, slightly angsty story, filled with moments of discovery, including moments of triggered indirect abuse, leading to emotional heartbreak.  In addition, it’s also an incredibly sweet, sexy, heartwarming story about true love.

I absolutely loved the main characters, Xander and Julian, as their past, their bond, and their newly-discovered passion, is what made their connection already written in the stars.  Oh, and those secondary characters?  Pfft  I am already addicted to them as their own stories are practically oozing right off of the pages already, and for this, I really look forward to their own prospective stories as well.

However, I am also desperate for more development.  I also need to read more about the main characters and their clearly rich background as well.  And, I am just as eager to read about that moment when the fake relationship finally transitioned into a real one, one that had been simmering in the background for so many years.

That all being said, Love Fool, is a great story.  With its addicting storyline, its wonderful plot, and with an additional nail-biting angsty sub-plot, it is one story that I enjoyed reading.  Following the journey of Xander and Julian, as they continued to make their way thorough their wonderfully lengthy relationship, was such a joy to read as it ultimately morphed into such a beautifully heartwarming journey..I really liked it! 🙂

Only true love can free a captive heart.

Landon Jenks, retired four-time Golden Glove-winning shortstop for the Chicago Cubs, is lonely, heartbroken, and in desperate need of simple human contact. Trapped in the sticky fine print of an ironclad contract that forbids him from revealing his very-much-single status until the season finale of his reality show airs, he calls an elite male escort service that caters to the rich and wretched.

Accustomed to servicing his often less than savory clients at more upscale locales, twenty-six-year-old Toby Carmichael is surprised when his handler sends him to a run-down motel off I-55. But “surprise” doesn’t come close to describing the shock that rocks his system when a delightful stuttering mess covered in tattoos and nearly ten years his senior stumbles into the room—and right into his heart.

For the first time since Toby was forced into the life of prostitution, a kiss sparks a desire that has nothing to do with money and everything to do with genuine chemistry and the faintest beginnings of something so much more. But Toby’s dark past and troubled present make it impossible to see a future with Landon. And when the truth comes to light, a horrified and helpless Landon is determined to save Toby at all costs.

Content Warnings: Discussion of childhood verbal abuse by an adult survivor, homophobia from a close family member, discussion of previous self-harm/cutting behaviors by an adult survivor, prostitution with dubious consent (all interactions between the main characters have full consent and there are no on-page depictions of dub-con situations), consensual and experimental Domination/submission play between mostly-novice characters, mild violence between a main character and antagonist, and human trafficking associated with illegal drugs (nothing explicit on-page, only discussions related to and psychological/mental ramifications of addressed in moderate detail).

He Owns My Heart (Owned Heart, Body, & Soul, #1)He Owns My Heart by Evie Drae

“An Intensely Emotional, Strengthening, Beautiful Story”

An exquisitely beautiful, intense, highly emotional story about love, sacrifice, strength, and, devotion has just left this reader with one massive book hangover.  Massive being the operative word as the depth of truly indescribable heartache and turmoil has blown this reader away with its absolute magnitude.  If there was one story that I needed to skip right to the ending to guarantee a happy ending, this was one of them.  Alas, I didn’t, and it was very difficult not to do so.  But, in the end, it was so-very-worth-it.

He Owns My Heart, by Evie Drae, is undoubtedly a tremendously powerful story.  It contains a deep, dark, gut-wrenching, desperately beautiful storyline, with main characters with such unwavering strength, that would ordinarily take only a slight breeze to knock anyone else right over, in similar situations, had there been the slightest provocation.

This is a story that contains major difficult-to-read trigger-filled heart-breaking moments; mental and physical abuse, depression, human trafficking, attempted rape, and, annoying self-centered ex-boyfriends.  Throughout the story, there were many seemingly never ending moments of pain, shock, numbness, and, disbelief.  I was glued to every-single-page as I read through this love story heavily disguised as a life time of heartache, depravity, and a yearning for normalcy.  I needed to on many different occasions jump right through my kindle so as to shield the character(s) from any kind of further suffering.  Hence the need to skip to the ending for that needed reprieve.

He Owns My Heart in its own right, it is an incredible story.  Its storyline is heart-breaking, and yet, stunningly gorgeous and breathtaking.  With a lengthy and, at times, exhausting plot, it was a relief that the characters were great and addicting; ones that I either loved immensely, found myself cheering, and, fist pumping, or needing to strongly request the removal of ones brain out of their..behinds.  Throughout this story, as the plot, and sub-plot(s), had progressed, as such, it was also a welcoming relief, for this reader, to have such sizzling chemistry between the two main characters, so as to bring another dose of levity throughout such a difficult read.

That being said, however, I also found there to be sporadic bouts of confusion, as a result of a differing pace, slight repetition, and a need for more of a noticeable transition throughout the developing plot, as well as a desire for a slight development to the sub-plots.

All in all, He Owns My Heart is a powerful story, with addicting characters, an intense storyline filled with humorously needy moments, strong chemistry, and, surprisingly giddy moments as well.  In the end, I do recommend this story, as it does contain a deep and necessary storyline, with the added warning, due to the existence of such triggers, which may be difficult to read.  I enjoyed reading the beginning of such a strong journey for Landon and Toby. 🙂

How to Forgive Cover

LOVESTRONG, Book 6

Take one fabulous unicorn of a person… Grayson Davis came back to their hometown after college to help a new generation of kids who might be reliving their own past as a bullied young teen and LGBT teens who are struggling to find their identities in small-town USA. Taking a job as a youth counselor at The Rainbow Kids Foundation is their dream come true… even if it means working for the very man who once bullied them. So what if they can’t forgive Clark Danvers for the past? They can peacefully coexist with Clark and that’s good enough for Gray. As for their personal life, well… who needs one? They have family, friends, and their crazy cat Spike. As for everything else? Well, there’s an app for that. Add one flirty, pansexual biker who’s the opposite of an outlaw… Canaan “Wolf” Matthews isn’t looking for love, let alone commitment. He’s busy running a club of bikers who do their part to rescue kids from bad situations, help abused spouses escape, and accompany social workers into the rough areas when it’s not a case for the cops but backup is a necessity. Meeting Gray while on his way home from a hookup—with the evidence clearly crusted on his shirt like a merit badge—isn’t quite the meet cute Wolf would’ve wanted when he found the one person who could make his little pan heart go pitter-pat. Like everything else in his life, Wolf decides to roll with it and see what happens. To equal two people who might just be what the other needs. Gray only wants to have fun with Wolf. No strings necessary. So why do they keep reaching out to the annoyingly cute biker when things get dicey for a teen who’s dealing with a situation that is far too relatable for Gray? Anxieties flare and forgiveness beckons as Gray starts to see their old nemesis, Clark, for the person he is today. Before Gray can plan a future, they need to make peace with their past. With Wolf’s support, can Gray finally learn how to forgive and find their way to a full and happy life? This is the sixth book in the LOVESTRONG series about finding love and being yourself in a small town. Intended only for 18+ readers, this is an mm romance full of all the fun, laughter, and sweet feels you’d want from an S. Hawke book.

Excerpt:

After the laughter died down, Dana pulled a paper out of her apron pocket and passed it my way. “Wolf, this is for you. A cute little twink was desperately trying to get your attention. Poor thing was downright dejected. After I found out what was wrong, I explained that when you brothers get together it’s sacred and promised to give you his number.” Nobody blinked an eye because it wasn’t anything Dana hadn’t done before when someone had asked about one of us. What did seem to surprise everyone was when I pushed it aside without looking at it. Josh leaned over to put the back of his hand against my forehead, as if checking my temperature. “No, no fever. How’s your appetite, Wolf? I just want to know if we should call your doctor before rushing to the emergency room.” Rolling my eyes, I flicked the paper his way. “Ever think I’m just not looking for that right now? Here, you call the guy. I’m sure he’ll be just as happy.” Josh tapped his fingers against the table. “You’re scaring me, bro. If it was just this one, that would be one thing. But you’ve barely been watching the show, you turned that girl down who offered to buy you a drink when we got here, and I haven’t seen you quietly trolling like you’re planning who you’re picking up when the rest of us leave. What’s up with that?” Josh was on a roll now. “Wolf, tell me the truth. Are you dying? On a fourteen-day course of antibiotics? Please, tell me what I can do.” Asher nodded solemnly. “Josh is right, Wolf. You’ve been turning down possible tricks from both genders. I’m trying to think when’s the last time I saw you with someone. It’s definitely been a minute. Everything okay? For real though, I’m not even playing.” Dana laughed but fortunately couldn’t stay to help give me crap since she was needed at the bar. Mal watched her walk away then turned to me with a suspicious look. “I thought I was imagining things when I saw you talking to Kandi’s kid at Becca’s engagement party. And I could’ve sworn I saw you leaving together. Then I heard Becca on the phone with Gray before she left town and she was giving them hell for not saying why they’d left early or who they were with. Anything you care to share?” My eyes bugged out of my head as I glanced at the stage where Kandi was currently performing a Britney Spears number. “Oh, hell. I was so focused on my cutie that I didn’t even think about their last name. So Grayson is Kandi’s kid?” Rick looked concerned as he nodded. “Step kid, same difference. Tread carefully there. You do know they work for Clark too, right? And there’s some bad history there?” I whistled softly, ignoring the part about Clark for now. I was too blown away by the Kandi connection. “Damn. They made a joke about the Venn diagram of all the people connecting us and they weren’t wrong. Can you believe I had no idea who they were? I’ve probably passed them hundreds of times in town before I happened to notice them at Sally’s a couple weeks ago.” Shaking my head now, I had to laugh at my own idiocy. “I actually asked if they were new in town. God, no wonder they think I’m a schmuck. Well, that and I was obviously coming from a hookup. Turns out using your shirt in the dark to wipe cum then wearing it when you stop to grab coffee is a bad plan. Huh. So Gray is Kandi’s kid. Small world.” “Like Rick said, tread carefully.” Mal sat up straighter, sounding like a stern stepfather himself. Kinda cute when you considered the fact that his stepdaughter was only six years younger than him and Asher. “I’m serious, Wolf. Gray is Becca’s best friend. They aren’t a one and done. If you treat them like your average trick, Mama Kandi will bitchslap your ass.” Shaking my head, I held both palms up. “Calm down. I get that I have a certain reputation, but that’s just it. I’m not treating them like that at all. They got under my skin and I was the one who got ghosted. They put their number in my phone, and I’ve tried calling and texting for the past two weeks. But they aren’t answering. A few times I’ve seen moving dots like they were typing a text, but nothing. It’s been frustrating as hell.” Asher slapped the table as he guffawed. “Holy shit, you guys. I never thought I’d see the day that Wolf was the guy who can’t take a hint.” Pouting, I picked at the label on my beer for a few moments. “I really like them though. I don’t know why, but there’s just something special about them. And not just because they didn’t fall for my usual shit. They’re the perfect blend of sass and snark. And so fucking smart. I’m telling you, I can’t put my finger on it but Grayson Davis is unique and I like it.”

About the Author

As an avid reader and big romance fan myself, I love sharing the stories of the different people who live in my imagination. My stories are filled with humor, a few tears, and the underlying message to not give up hope, even in the darkest of times, because life can change on a dime when you least expect it. This theme comes from a lifetime of lessons learned on my own hard journey through the pains of poverty, the loss of more loved ones than I’d care to count, and the struggles of living through chronic illnesses. Life can be hard, but it can also be good! Through it all I’ve found that love, laughter, and family can make all the difference, and that’s what I try to bring to every tale I tell.

I’m a happily married mom with one snarky teenage boy, and three grown “kids of my heart.” I’m more widely known for my mpreg writings as Susi Hawke; this new name is a departure from that. Whether written by Susan or Susi, the books are filled with that all-important love, laughter, and family I mentioned; the only difference is that this name has no male pregnancy. I look forward to sharing my stories with you, and to bringing more romance and laughter into this world that needs it so very badly.

Excerpt:

River stared into the mirror, wondering who the stranger was looking back at him.

Who the fuck are you?

Everything about his appearance was completely wrong—from the hair to the eyes and lips, nothing seemed right. Reaching up, he took out the contacts, dropping them in the sink before turning on the water, watching as they disappeared down the drain.

Why the hell did I start wearing these? One word: Otávio.

It was Otávio who’d suggested that he should wear contacts. River wasn’t sure why the fuck he agreed to wear the damn things when he loved his light gray eyes. They weren’t unique, but they were his.

Lifting his head, he stared in the mirror, but he was still looking at a stranger. Reaching up, he snatched off the blond wig he was wearing, not caring about the pins holding it in place. He glared at the offending thing before throwing it to the floor.

The wig was another of Otávio’s suggestions.

He started removing the pins holding his long curly black hair in place, watching with fascination as the deep onyx waves cascaded over his right shoulder. He giggled like a kid, twirling his fingers in his hair. Growing up, kids used to ask him if he dyed his hair, but it was all natural—he attributed it to his Cape Verdean heritage.

River raised his gaze and expected to recognize the man in the mirror, but he still saw a stranger. Grabbing one of the hotel towels, he put it under the running water, soaking the material, and without hesitation, roughly scrubbed the makeup off his face.

He sighed when he saw the first patch of his soft ochre complexion come into view and froze when a flood of memories and hurtful emotions came back to him seeing the large bruise on his left cheek—the reason he agreed to wear the wigs, contacts, and makeup. He had to hide the abuse.

Good thing no one ever sees me without makeup.

River doubted anyone remembered what he looked like before he became rich and famous. His fear “was” of them finding out that the spoiled, cold, controlled, and calculating man they saw in the magazines was a fraud, but in truth “he’s” a fucking coward behind closed doors.

I haven’t been in control of my life for a very long time.

The Cowboy's Rockstar (Black Meadow Ranch, #2)The Cowboy’s Rockstar by Giovanna Reaves

“A Heart-Breaking, Mysterious, Hopeful, Beautiful Story”

The Cowboy’s Rockstar, by Giovanna Reaves, is an amazing story.  It’s a gripping, heart-breaking, touching, nail-biting, mysterious, edge-of-your-seat, are-you-kidding-me, kind-of-read, that had this reader transfixed from the first page until the very last.  It all led to one heck of a ride.  A ride that had not even been remotely envisioned at first glance of such a beautiful cover.  This is a story with so many emotional, hopeful, and, stunningly gorgeous moments, that in the end, it all took this reader’s breath away, as the culmination of such events had such a brightly lit sense-of-peace for one strongly admirable and beautiful individual.

The Cowboy’s Rockstar contains such an incredibly heavy and shocking storyline, with triggers, and quite the addicting plot.  Readers are taken through many twists and turns that contribute to the unpredictability of the journey.  As a result, the need for the adorably wonderful moments, which had been strategically placed here and there for that needed respite, were definitely welcomed.

I loved River and was one of his biggest fans as he struggled to find his peace and light.  I found myself interchangeably cheering and fist pumping for Winston, while fighting the urge to figure out a way to somehow squeeze-hug the many adorable little munchkins who found themselves pattering around within the story as well.  I was also extremely grateful for the love and dedication of the secondary characters, aka cameos, aka family members, and found myself already enjoying them immensely.

That all being said, however, it all also left me with wanting and needing so-much-more.  It is in this reader’s opinion that there was a need for more character and story development as well as additional editing as well.  I was super, beyond excited to read a story containing actual cowboys, horses, and barn animals, all within a well-described ranch.  And, to know that there was also a musician..all within the Omegaverse??  With BDSM?  YES!  Count-me-in!

But, alas, I felt this wasn’t necessarily the case.  It was heavy on the heart-breaking and gripping mysterious moments and light on the actual cowboy and music within the Omegaverse as a whole.  In addition, while I wasn’t entirely sure about the direction of some of the plot, it all definitely still kept me reading.

I loved The Cowboy’s Rockstar and am certainly sporting a mighty large hangover as, in the end, it was an amazing, heart-warming, beautiful story with great characters, and a majestically beautiful sunny new family.  I really liked it. 🙂

Heart of Stone by Sam E. Kraemer (Arc) Review!

“A Gripping, May-December, Heartwarming Love Story”
Heart of Stone, by Sam E. Kraemer, is a gorgeously beautiful, highly emotional, powerfully intense love story.  I am floored at the magnitude of this touching story as it wound up leaving me breathless with stunned encompassing thoughts which left me motionless.  This new story is not what I had originally thought would take over my thoughts as its storyline and plot are pleasantly deceptive.  Heart of Stone turned out to be one of the most powerfully emotional and poignant stories for 2020.
This gripping yet breathtakingly uplifting emotional story is one that is filled with heart-breaking, desperate, endlessly reaching moments.  Moments where love, dedication, and, strength were the balm necessary to heal the broken-hearted.
With its lengthy plot containing numerous flashbacks, and a deeply developed meaningful storyline, I found the characters to be wonderful, loving, snarky, and, wise beyond their years. I found myself getting attached to individuals as their development was beyond realistic and either had me close to throwing my kindle or wrapping myself around it tightly.  It was quite the reaction to a simple young man meets physician initial mindset.
Wow, Heart of Stone was definitely not the story I thought I was going to read.  Not by a long shot.  With its lengthy chapters and such a deeply descriptive and varied plot, my head did spin for a bit at the seemingly endless direction and pace, and the unpredictability of such twists and turns wound up being shocking, incredibly devastating and endlessly glorious.  But, collectively, it was one cohesively staggering storyline with addicting characters and such needy heartwarming moments which craved that happily-ever-after.
I am beyond words with how much I love Barron, Stone, Theo, and their immediate family.  It was brutal to read through their journey with such thorns almost at every corner.  And, those thorns hurt.  I ugly cried.  I was also desperate for something.  When I saw it, I giggled and then I grinned like a buffoon.  This story brought out all of the emotions.  Emotions that left me emotionally drained and hopeful.
While I wasn’t really crazy for the direction and depth of the plot, at times, as well as the lengthy pace, this was a stunning story.  With wet eyes, I can exhaustingly say I really, really liked it. 🙂

Let Love Win by A.D. Ellis (Arc) Review!

Let Love WinLet Love Win by A.D. Ellis

                                                        “A Soulmates Love and Devotion”

A beautiful, heartwarming love story with roots steaming from childhood for three individuals who were meant to be soulmates as love, devotion, respect, and, adoration guided these individuals into different places within their own strongly formed bubble.  The after effects of this new story have this reader feeling all warm, and, ultimately content as a result of this recent read.  While it wasn’t always all hearts and flowers, it’s ending is one of heart-shaped eyes and the feeling of a comfortable blanket on a cold winter night.

Let Love Win, by A.D. Ellis, is undoubtedly a beautiful story about true love.  Love between brothers, childhood friends, family members, and best friends.  It’s one that takes the shape in many different ways within the storyline of this new story.  Its development is varied, addicting, and, necessary, as the characters are all at different places in their lives, but with the same basis driving them in the same direction.  Through the guidance of love, characters make their way through life’s ups and downs as the struggles of obtaining true love often serve as road blocks as each determinedly makes their way through extremely difficult events.  I loved the storyline, the characters, and, the underlying theme.  It certainly brought out all of the feels for this reader, as it was a tumultuous journey for all.

This story was certainly an addicting story.  There were many times when I found myself either talking loudly to my kindle, as a result of assorted moments which either had me reading with mouth agape, or, attempting to read through a cloudy vision, or, feeling all mushy-like as a result of an out pouring of love from some of the characters.  As there were many difficult-to-read moments, which are to be considered as triggers, which do occur throughout the story instead of only at the beginning, I found myself very appreciative for the overabundance of extremely sizzling, chemistry overflowing, yummy twisting moments.  And, on a side note..my kindle did indeed melt.

While this story does contain an exquisitely beautiful epilogue, I will also say that, it did take this reader a while to arrive at such an opinion.  With a fabulous storyline and great characters, I did find the pace to be a challenging one.  Having a story heavily-laden with sex scenes, as mentioned, wound-up leading the way for deception, lies, and partial apologies, with love being indirectly snuffed out by selfish means.  Love did exist, don’t get me wrong, however, there were so many additives which stood in the way of truly sensing it throughout the story.  For this, I was so desperate for the ball to drop, as a result of the deceitfulness, and drop it certainly did, but, it was uneventful and in addition to glancing over the initial heart-breaking moment, I was actually disappointed and upset as a result of the direction of the plot.

BUT, Let Love Win, is quite the addicting story.  It does contain a gorgeous storyline, a substantial plot, and wonderfully devotional and realistic characters.  I loved the theme, and with such an overflowing amount of eagerness for a beautiful ending, I could not get enough of the love and devotion of the three dedicated soulmates.  I really liked it! 🙂
