Excerpt:

I was hopelessly in love with him. “Are you out of your damn mind, Murphy?” I mumbled to myself. “You fall in love easy, but this takes the cake, man.” It didn’t matter what I told myself because I couldn’t look away. He was in crystal clear HD and the rest of the world was black and gray static, buzzing and writhing, annoying but unimportant. When he smiled again, laughing at something the older boy said as they both darted back over to the slide, I found myself walking over. My feet were moving on their own and I forced them to slow down. “Be casual, Murphy, not a dang weirdo. Just checking the perimeter. Just securing the kids,” I mumbled to myself, trying, yet again, for casual, kicking my feet as I neared the play area. “Nice and easy. And maybe stop frickin’ talking to yourself in the meantime, huh?” I put my hands behind my back and whistled a nonsensical tune, strolling casually along the knee-height wall that surrounded the play area. I nodded to a couple of parents, threw out a couple of “How’s it going’s.” Nothing to see here, folks, just an alpha madly in love and on a mission. When I got within ten feet of him, his eyes caught on mine. It was like dropping off a cliff. I stopped for a second, completely in awe of him, then remembered to walk again. Think of something cool to say. Something that’ll make you look smooth. No, something that’ll make you seem powerful and in control. That’s it. Just let it flow. You got this. I gave him my best smile. Here goes nothin’. “Marry me.” That’s what came out of my mouth. A marriage proposal. Without missing a beat, the omega replied, “Show me my ring and I’ll think about it.” My eyes widened. “Seriously?”

Review:

His Accidental Shamrock Omega (Omega Holidays, #3)His Accidental Shamrock Omega by Ava Beringer

“A Gripping, Emotional, Hopeful, Humorous Story”     Wow.  An absolutely gripping, highly emotional, heart-breaking, beyond hopeful, side-splitting, squishy adorable read has just left me in a state of profound amazement.  My latest read turned out to be not even remotely what I would have even predicted I’d be reading.  I’m thinking a happy-go-lucky story, maybe taking place in Ireland, perhaps a character(s) who was of Irish descent.  Reality?  Pfffft  Not even close.  Instead, it was addicting, heart-rending, and ultimately unputdownable. His Accidental Shamrock Omega, Ava Beringer, is a seemingly never-ending emotional journey of a loving, courageous, and strong father of three beautifully sweet young boys, and I couldn’t get enough of them.  An immediate sense of shock, denial, and undeniable forlorn, readers are right off the bat taken on a desperate run of survival as the main characters set out to find their ultimate sense of peace and unwavering happiness.  Wow.  What a ride it was. As an almost kind of insta-love, His Accidental Shamrock Omega was a heavy and hopeful read with plentiful characters who either had me loving them immediately, giggle-snorting, fist-pumping, or, intensely pleased with their dedication, bravery and absolute love.  The heaviness was indescribable and lengthy, the kindness was sob-worthy, and the sunset was stellar. However.  Clearly, this was a story that was not representative to what was envisioned. Speaking for this reader, I’m not a fan of being caught off guard regardless of how gripping, emotional, and beautiful the story was as a whole.  I also didn’t really feel the connection completely, there needed more development as there were a few things that were left unsaid, and, some of the necessary scenarios were told rather than developed for the reader to be able to fully experience. That all being said, however again, as a whole, I really liked His Accidental Shamrock Omega, loved Lucky and Kellan, and, could-not-get-enough of the three little munchkins as their brightness was as bright as the sun on a cloudy day.  I loved it! 🙂 *star rating: 4.30 ‘I really liked this story’ stars*

Blank and Blue, Book 2

Levi Black has mostly recovered from the events of a year ago. The only lingering effects are that he’s much more well known in York than he’d like to be, and he’s a lot more cautious about walking around his house naked. However, those events brought him the capricious and fascinating Blue, so he’s not complaining. On the contrary, he’s happy, in love, and looking forward to Blue finally moving in with him. And if sometimes he wonders what Blue sees in a boring cartoonist, he keeps that to himself.

Blue Billings is finally ready to throw off the memories of his past and move in with the person who means the most in the world to him. His psychic abilities have grown in the last year to his mentor Tom’s consternation, but Blue is determined to look on the bright side. He’s also focused on ignoring all the warning signs that he’s received lately.

However, even deeply buried secrets have a way of rising to the surface. And when a surprise from Blue’s past turns up and draws them away to a lonely house on the Yorkshire moors, Levi and Blue must fight for their survival once again.

From bestselling author, Lily Morton, comes the second book in the Black and Blue series. The books should be read in order.

Excerpt:

It’s ten in the morning before I remember the old man from last night. I’m unpacking a new box of books, sitting cross-legged on the floor in the book shop surrounded by stacks of books and bubble wrap, while Tom sits at the counter clutching his ever-present cup of tea with his face screwed up into grumpy lines.

“I’m just saying that you’re opening yourself up too much, Blue.”

“That’s never been a complaint before,” I say lightly, grinning up at him as he rolls his eyes.

“Lovely as this glimpse is into your private affairs, I must move you on.”

“Private affairs? I’m not Prince Charles.”

“And that’s a shame. That lad talks to plants. You struggle with humans.”

I shake my head. “I’m pretty sure that comment wasn’t meant for me. Know yourself.”

“I’m very good with humans.”

“What about yesterday?” I say, putting down my scissors and staring at him. “I’m pretty sure it was you who told the lady asking if we took cash that you weren’t the Bank of England.”

“You’ve been dreaming again.”

I roll my eyes. “If I’m dreaming about you, I definitely need to get some professional help.”

He huffs and helps himself to another biscuit from the Incredible Disappearing Biscuit Tin. I don’t know where the fuck he hides that thing. One minute he’s chomping down on a Hob Nob, then I come to take a biscuit, and it’s gone. Vanished.

I eye him affectionately. This crotchety old man is one of the most important people in my life. I’ve known him since I was a scrawny, scared kid who hitchhiked my way to York and never left, pinned here by a sense that I’d found my place. Tom never asked questions, just fed me and then later on when he revealed himself to be psychic too, he became my mentor. Sort of like Alec Guinness as Ben Kenobi, but with very poor people skills. Tom and my best friend, Will, are only topped by Levi. No one will ever shift Levi from heading the list of my most favourite people in the world.

Love Practice by A.F. Zoelle

A Good Bad Idea Story, Book 7

Wren is kinda sorta super in love with his best friend. Asking Izzy to go on practice dates as his dating tutor probably isn’t the best idea to keep those feelings hidden. But a bad idea has never stopped Wren before.

Wren Ferres

Does anyone know how to make Prince Charming fall in love with you? I’m asking for a friend.

…yeah, that friend is me. I’m secretly a little in love with my best friend and roommate. Okay, I’m a lot in love with him. Like, truly, madly, deeply in love with him. But it’s not my fault! He’s hot, French, and laughs at all my stupid jokes. He’s the prince of my dreams, minus the part where he isn’t actual royalty and not in love with me. Determined to change that, I come up with a brilliant plan to challenge Monsieur Know-it-all to be my dating tutor. I’m hoping that’ll tempt him into acting on our flirtatious banter.

If it doesn’t, maybe I’ll push my luck by suggesting some kissing practice?

Isidore “Izzy” Devereaux

Wren is flirty, quirky, très cute—and completely oblivious about how much I love him. His wild ideas usually make me laugh, but his request to go on practice dates to give him pointers? Yeah, that pushes all my buttons. Agreeing to his outlandish request means risking him discovering my secret. But, it also presents a tempting opportunity. This is my one chance to make him see me as more than just his best friend. It could be my only shot at making him my boyfriend for real.

I may not be a real prince like he teases me about, but can’t we still have a happily ever after?

Love Practice is the seventh and final book in the Good Bad Idea series and part of the Sunnyside universe. This novel features a friends to lovers, roommates, fake dating romance. Full of cute sweetness and sexy fun, every story ends with a satisfying HEA and no cliffhangers. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.

Special Release Excerpt:

Chapter 1: Wren Ferres

Izzy shook his head at my ridiculousness. “I’ll never comprehend how your mind works.”

“Wow, Monsieur Know-it-all admitting he doesn’t understand something?” I gasped in mock astonishment. “Why, I never!”

Très cute, Wren.”

“Yes, I am. How kind of you to notice.” I laughed at my joke as he snorted in amusement. “You’d think it would help me land more second dates. Considering how many first dates I go on, I should statistically do better than this. Of course, knowing you, I’m sure you have a list of reasons why I keep striking out.”

Izzy didn’t disappoint me. “For starters, you have a tendency to come on too strong.” He gestured at me, sitting on his lap in a loose embrace as evidence.

Instead of being offended by his accuracy, it inspired me. “That just gave me an idea!”

“Oh no,” he groaned.

I shoved at his shoulder. “No, this one is good!”

He didn’t look convinced. “Define ‘good.’”

“I’ve come up with a genius plan to use your brilliance to help me!”

“Your definition of ‘good’ and mine are very different.”

My plan excited me the more I thought about it. “No, this is perfect. You should be my dating tutor!”

“Your what?”

“Since you always have an answer for everything and love telling me what I’m doing wrong, this is genius! You can coach me on how to get better at it!”

It was a surprise not to receive a flat-out rejection. “Are you saying that you want me to go on practice dates with you and critique you?”

“Yeah!”

“And what’s in it for moi?”

I tried to come up with something that would sway him. “The pleasure of my company?”

“I get enough of that as your roommate.”

“Come on, is telling me I’m wrong not enough of a draw for you? If you help me practice, I’ll get better. Then, I’ll have a boyfriend to give me all the sex I want without ending up in your lap, unsuccessfully begging to be fucked.”

He scoffed. “I find that hard to believe when being with Joon didn’t prevent you from flirting with me.”

“I’ll never quit doing that because it’s too much fun. If we stopped flirting, I’d think you weren’t my friend anymore.” The mere thought of it hurt my heart.

“Nothing would ever make me stop being your friend.”

It was hard not to coo at the rare showing of Izzy’s softer side. “There’s only one reason I can come up with that would make you refuse to be my dating teacher.”

“And what’s that?”

“You’re scared of falling in love with me for real.”

His sexy haughtiness was on full display as he tilted his head. “Don’t be absurd.”

“So you’ll do it?”

“Would you listen to my advice if I did?”

It seemed like I was making some progress. “As long as it isn’t something impossible like ‘don’t be you,’ then yeah.”

He continued mulling it over. “And we would go on fake dates so you could practice being better at them in the future?”

I shifted in his lap as I leaned closer. “I’ll even be a gentleman and buy you dinner as a thank-you.”

He was silent for a long pause, making me wonder if he would turn me down. To my great relief, he caved. “Fine. I’m willing to try your little experiment for at least one date.”

“Thank you!” I hugged him tight, melting into his hold when he returned the embrace.

Izzy sighed like I annoyed him, but I could hear the amusement in his voice as he asked, “You’re not going to move, are you?”

I clung to him tighter. “Not until you make me or I’m in danger of getting a boner.”

He laughed, which gratified my ego. “You are hopeless, mon ami.”

“The word you’re looking for is ‘incorrigible,’ actually.”

“That, too.”

Maybe if I show him what an awesome fake boyfriend I am, he’ll want me to be his real one?

August “Augie” Murphy

Secretly being in love with your straight friend sucks. Secretly being in love with your straight friend who won’t quit flirting with you really sucks. When Ambrose suggests we go on a fake double date as boyfriends, the temptation is too much to resist. Even if we’re only pretending for one night, I want to know what it’s like to be loved by him.

Could I be lucky enough that it happens for real?

Rune Tourneau

The only relationships I used to be interested in were meaningless hookups with no strings attached. But Callum’s kindness touched a part of my heart I didn’t know existed, changing me forever. But why stop there? After all, if everyone is going to accuse Jules and I of being together, why shouldn’t we enjoy ourselves as friends-with-benefits?

Ohhhh, it’s because our arrangement makes me fall in love with him for real. Oops?

I’ve ignored my feelings for Xander so many years that I’m convinced I only love him as a friend. It’s totally a coincidence that thinking of him with his awful ex-boyfriend makes me burn with raging hellfire, right? We’re nothing alike, but for the first time since my mom passed away, life is finally fun again thanks to him.

Even though we just met, it would be stupid to run away from love when all signs point to him being the one, right?

North Easton

I’ve always been a lust at first sight kind of a guy, but Elias makes me rethink everything I know about love. It seems like our romance was written in the stars, especially since his horoscope predicted I would become the greatest love of his life.

My lack of a filter always gets me into trouble, but at least this time it’s the fun kind.

Going home alone with a broken heart as a souvenir would suck. I’d rather return to America with a gorgeous French boyfriend instead.

The Boy Who Loved Wicked by C.P. Harris (Arc) Review!

The Boy Who Loved WickedThe Boy Who Loved Wicked by C.P. Harris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

                                                        “A Recommended 5 Star Read”

An emotional journey of two lost souls, strengthened by poignant philosophical interludes, as they made their way through love, loss, need, adoration, loss, and true unadulterated love, to guide them towards their ultimate peace.  Their light.  Words are not enough to describe this new story.

As a story of nothing that I had even remotely had originally envisioned, I slowly read as emotions took charge through the hills and valleys of indescribable heartache and pain.  Not an easy read as the need to squeeze hug the main characters was such a strong need that I found myself frequently hugging my kindle, intrinsically glad for the selective humorous, cute, an adorable moments, throughout this multi-layered read.  I adored the characters throughout their journey of growth and redemption.

While there was a slight need for more development towards the end containing a somewhat rushed ending, I am so in love with, The Boy Who Loved Wicked, by C.P. Harris, with its beautiful yet melancholy writing, I cannot recommend it enough.  If there was a way to rate a story 5+ stars, I would, because collectively….it was magnanimous.

Fated Elves, Book 2

A former king must learn to compromise or lose his mate forever.

Living in a grand castle is awesome. But after a while, Dustin, a guy accustomed to hard physical labor surrounded by co-workers he considers family, can’t handle staying home and nearly isolated without going absolutely insane. Dustin yearns for more freedom, but Casersis restricts him for his safety.

Casersis longs for a soulbond so badly his soul feels like an open wound. But he fears Dustin will refuse him, or worse, run away screaming when he learns what the soulbond entails. To avoid his worries, Casersis takes Dustin on dates. If Dustin is busy having fun, he can’t hound Casersis for why he’s always so sad. Or so Casersis thinks.

When Casersis and Dustin accidentally soulbond, neither of them are prepared. Dustin isn’t fully an elf yet. The soulbond’s ancient magic ravages Dustin’s body, sending him into random fits of excruciating pain. And if they don’t find a way to compromise about Dustin’s freedom, it may just be too late.

This 70,000-word non-shifter omegaverse novel is set in a world where mpreg (male pregnancy) is a fact of life. However, this series does not end with a baby or pregnancy.

Release Blitz Excerpt:

But when I neared the gym, I heard his heavy footfalls as he ran on one of the treadmills. When I entered, his scent surrounded me—clove, clean sweat, and musk. Gods, I wanted to get lost in his scent.

He glanced over and grinned at me. “See something you like?”

I chuckled and leaned against the wall next to the door. “I do. Should I show you how much I like what I see?”

Dustin winked at me as he stopped the treadmill. He wiped down his face with the towel hanging on one of the arms and sauntered toward me with a sure, confident stride. I loved the way he made me feel hunted. And I would always want him to capture me. He already had.

“What’s up?”

Grinning, I stepped closer and stole a sweet kiss that made Dustin sigh and made our bond sing between us. “I thought we might go on a date. Go get into something comfortable that you won’t mind getting dirty. And pack a bag with toiletries, towels, shorts and a t-shirt, and warm things you don’t mind getting filthy.”

“Are you taking me to another gym?” he asked, his eyes narrowed.

I chuckled. “No. But you will be showering after, and you’ll need a nice pair of slacks and a sweater for the last half of our date. You’ll also need very warm clothes that you don’t mind getting filthy. And layers. Add as many as you can while still allowing you to move freely. So, pack a bag, and I’ll meet you at your door in twenty minutes.”

He kissed me, licked into my mouth, and drank down my moan. Then he pulled back and kissed the side of my neck. “Showering there or not, I’d better take one here before we go doing anything. I stink.”

I leaned in and sniffed his neck. His scent wrapped around me like a comforting blanket, and I purred. “I quite like the way you smell after working out.”

He rolled his eyes and fought off a smile. “You’re weird.”

Grinning, I playfully pushed him toward the door. “Go on. Shower quickly.”

He kissed me again and left me feeling lightheaded from the love that flowed through our bond. It was a heady thing, one that made me feel lighter than air as I went to my room, following my trotting mate more sedately since I had already showered.

About the Author:

If there’s one thing Devon likes most, it’s chaos. She has a chaotic mind, messy house, and throws her characters into every calamitous situation possible. When she isn’t writing, she’s editing or formatting other authors’ works, building websites, creating graphics, reading, playing video games, or watching Fortnite streams on Twitch. She likes to stay busy. So yes. Chaos.

Starting in 2003, Devon turned her writing bug away from poetry and online role play in chat rooms to write her first novel. Yes, it was trash, but the process of learning to edit that piece of garbage spurred her to learn more and more. By 2013, she read an author by the name of Raythe Reign, and somehow, Raythe’s stories finally made all that learning in Devon’s mind click. She wrote her first semi-salable book in two weeks. The next in ten days, and by the beginning of 2014, had seven books written.

Were they all trash? No, but she’s in the process of rewriting them, and has already written one, turning Duty and Sacrifice into three books of a nine-book series, The God Jars Saga. Those three books were followed by more, and the last two books in the series will be published in the first quarter of 2019.

Born on a Navy base in Patuxent River, Maryland, Devon has traveled the world, living in Sigonella, Sicily for three years, and visiting many European countries before moving back to the states around the age of seven. She’s lived in Florida for sixteen years, Oklahoma for a year, and Pennsylvania for the rest. She graduated from surgical technology school near the top of her class in 2004, and uses her medical and worldly knowledge to enrich her books whenever possible. Being the worldly woman she is, and having spent most of her teens as a broody goth, Devon has four tattoos, nine piercings, loves techno, electronica, dubstep, and similar music genres, and has an incurable internet addiction.

She builds her own computers, can’t stand Mac-anything unless it’s to format books in Vellum, and purple and black are her favorite colors, though that can change to burgundy and gray depending on the day. Since she has bipolar disorder, PTSD, social anxiety disorder, general anxiety disorder, clinical depression, and has trouble leaving her house due to all that, Devon works full time as an author and editor, and spends as much time as she can talking to other authors and her readers.

Special Release Tour Excerpt:

I managed to get upstairs at the Sigma Mu Tau house without encountering anyone or having to explain why I was covered in mud. I took a shower, using soap to clean a scraped area on my knee and palm, applied antibiotic from my first aid kit, and put on some comfy PJs.

Then I sat on my bed. My roommate, Dobbs, was out. I should study, but I didn’t.

It had started to rain again, and I stared out the window, unable to get certain words out of my head.

“Well, I sure as hell hope not. Because if you were stupid on top of that, you sure would have been dealt a raw deal in life.”

That being my body, which was woefully pale, weak, and pathetic, like the guy who gets sand kicked in his face in those famous old Jack LaLane ads. That was the objective truth, so why should Bubba’s words hurt me? He hadn’t even been mean. He’d been nice to me, in fact.

Did that make it worse? Possibly.

Well, of course I was out of shape! Why did he think I volunteered to play ridiculous flag football in the first place? Yes, I wanted to help my fraternity meet Dean Robberts requirements so our house didn’t get closed. The dean told my frat, the Sigma Mu Taus, that we had to have two of our guys on the Alpha Lambda Alpha flag-football team to prove we could all work together or he’d shut us down. Of course, I wasn’t going to let that happen. But mostly, I volunteered because it gave me a chance to get in shape. I mean, those ALAs were buff. They were gorgeous, and I figured some of that could rub off on me.

I was a senior. It was February. I only had a few months left of my undergrad years. And I was still a virgin. I’d spent my high school years taking advanced classes and having no social life. My social life now consisted of role-playing games, video games, and watching TV with my SMT housemates.

I knew where I was going in life. My parents were both geneticists. They worked for the same company—that was how they met. Genome sequencing. They were bright and dedicated. They worked long hours at their research. That would be my life too. But before that, until then, I wanted to… to….

To live a little. I wanted to step outside the box, do something un-Sean McKinney-like. I wanted to party, to ride in fast cars, to have wild-and-crazy sex.

Or any sex!

And to achieve that goal, I needed to be more attractive. Hell, I wouldn’t want to have sex with the limp noddle physique I saw in the bathroom mirror. I desperately wanted to increase my hotness factor. That’s why I’d made it my one and only New Year’s resolution to get fit.

My palm stung. I pulled back the dressing to peek at it, and my stubborn streak kicked in.

Screw you, Alpha Lambda Alpha, you A-hoes. If you think a little scrape is going to discourage me, you’ve got another thing coming. I will play flag football. And I’ll get in shape, too, because I am going to get laid!

Gabriel’s Album
Sian Ceinwen
(Cruise Control Heroes, #1)
Publication date: March 14th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

The rock star always gets the girl…

I’m living my dream. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a rock star. And now here I am, about to start my first big tour, when she comes along.

Ariana.

From the second we meet, she’s all I can think about.Asking her to come on tour with me is easy. But she’s shy, insecure, and the paparazzi scare her. We live in two completely different worlds.

I love her and I know that she’s worth fighting for. The problem is, I’m not sure if love is enough.

Gabriel’s Album is the first book in the Cruise Control Heroes series. It’s the companion novel to The Album. Fall in love with Gabriel and Ariana all over again as Cruise Control embarks on their first world tour.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

We’re standing in the wings, waiting to go back onstage, and Hayden asks, “Are you okay, Gabriel?”

“Yeah, as good as I can be, I guess,” I tell him and shrug my shoulders.

“I know the last half of the album sucks for you.” He gives me a wry smile.

“Understatement of the year, right there,” I laugh. “Just one more song to go, anyway. Then the meet and greet, and then hibernation.”

“Bring on the hibernation,” Harrison grins at me.

We head back out onstage for the encore, and the audience cheers loudly.

“I can’t thank you all enough for coming out tonight,” I tell the crowd.

They scream again, and I wait for the crowd to quiet down before continuing.

“I wrote a lot of Heart Wide Open while I was”—I pause and make an exaggerated thinking pose with my finger tapping on my cheek—“man, how would you describe it?”

“Angry,” Hayden says into his mic. “Very, very angry.”

I almost laugh because I wasn’t actually expecting anyone to chime in, but I fake an enlightened tone, as though he’s just given me the answer to my question and say, “Ah, yes, that’s it. Thanks, Hayden.”

“Any time, bro,” Hayden replies.

The audience laughs at our playful banter, and I laugh along with them before continuing, “So, yeah, I was very angry for a long time. What I discovered, though, is that you can’t hold onto that anger forever, or it will eat you alive. When you eventually let it go, sometimes you’ll be surprised by what’s left behind.”

I smile at the crowd, and despite my inner turmoil this evening, I’m at peace with everything. I’ve accepted that she couldn’t be with me, even though it still occasionally hurts.

The crowd cheers as Sebastian starts playing his guitar, with Hayden playing a soft beat on the drums and Harrison playing a bass line. They repeat the same eight bars of music as I continue my explanation of the song.

Author Bio:

Hi, I’m Sian Ceinwen and I live in Western Australia with my husband and two kids. I started writing this in the third person but it was just odd. A little bit about me, I’ve enjoyed writing all my life, getting the worlds and characters in my head down for other people to enjoy is my passion.

Writing a book wasn’t something I ever thought I could really do but inspired by a song, I aimed to do it. With a lot of coaxing from my friends for me to finish it so they could find out the ending.

I released Gabriel and Ariana’s story, The Album, on March 14th, 2020. Harrison and Heather’s story, The Wedding, came out on June 6th, 2020. Sebastian and Lita’s book, The Baby, was released on November 18th, 2020.

The first book in the companion series, Gabriel’s Album, is available for pre-order and will be released on March 14th, 2021. It’s Gabriel and Ariana’s story retold from Gabriel’s point of view.

I hope that you will fall in love with the Cruise Control world the same way that I have.

When it seemed like everyone around Anthony Fender was reaching a goal or falling in love, he blamed an early midlife crisis for throwing him far outside of his comfort zone. Nashville was a long way from New York and his everyday life that’d lost all color lately.

Hopefully, this vacation would reenergize him, and maybe a cooking class with celebrity chef August King could end Anthony’s reign as the only Italian in Brooklyn who couldn’t boil water. But when he met August and his much younger husband Camden, every plan and all rational thought flew out the window. Their dynamic grabbed hold of Anthony and reeled him in before he even heard the magic word.

“Daddy.”

EXCERPT:

Taking a swig of my beer, I returned to my notifications to see if there was anything else. A couple new followers, one of whom was a student. I didn’t recognize the other follower, not the username or the profile photo. I clicked on the profile and felt my eyebrows crawl up toward my hairline.

Definitely a random NSFW user. I didn’t follow those. My account was essentially the official account for the Initiative, and God forbid a student checked out who I followed.

I scrolled down a little, because why not, and shifted in my seat. Someone was into kink. Gay kink, to boot. I had two friends who were into this too. By day, Greg and Moshe worked in accounting and education, and they raised two children together. When they had babysitters, Greg was a Daddy Dom who called Moshe his little boy.

All the photos on this account were black-and-white, not to mention heavily shadowed. Both sexy and beautiful. One hinted at a man kneeling in front of another, and he had his cheek resting against the dominant man’s thigh. Without revealing any details or features, the picture had peacefulness written all over it.

Must be a nice feeling.

Oh, hands. I clicked on a photo displaying two hands, one gripping the wrist of the other, and I squinted at a small tattoo. Hadn’t I seen that before? I assumed it was the submissive guy who had his wrist in someone’s hold, and he had a small snake that slithered up along the side of his thumb. I was sure I’d seen it before.

 Review:

Coming Soon! 🙂

Author Bio:

I’m often awkwardly silent or, if the topic interests me, a chronic rambler. In other words, I can discuss writing forever and ever. Fiction, in particular. The love story—while a huge draw and constantly present—is secondary for me, because there’s so much more to writing romance fiction than just making two (or more) people fall in love and have hot sex.

There’s a world to build, characters to develop, interests to create, and a topic or two to research thoroughly.

Every book is a challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new, and a puzzle to piece together. I want my characters to come to life, and the only way I know to do that is to give them substance—passions, history, goals, quirks, and strong opinions—and to let them evolve.

I want my men and women to be relatable. That means allowing room for everyday problems and, for lack of a better word, flaws. My characters will never be perfect.

Wait…this was supposed to be about me, not my writing.

I’m a writey person who loves to write. Always wanderlusting, twitterpating, kinking, cooking, baking, and geeking. There’s time for hockey and family, too. But mostly, I just love to write.

“The madness of love is the greatest of heaven’s blessings.”
-Plato

Day 1 of senior year at Denwin High was not supposed to end with my thoughts consumed by the new AP Philosophy teacher. I’d impatiently waited three years to take the course, but from the moment he strode in with his sad eyes that mirrored my own, I was intrigued by only him.

Dr. Sebastian Wicked.

Intrigue turned into obsession, and common interests set the stage for a tentative friendship with the enigmatic man. In time, every line put in place became blurred as what we shared sparked the flames of a forbidden affair. An affair that should’ve never been, a wrong that the universe sought to right.

There was only one possible outcome—we were both going to burn. Would our love rise up from the ashes? Or would it smolder in the ruins?

My name is Phoenix Michaelson, and I am The Boy Who Loved Wicked.

Release Blitz Excerpt:

“You’re worth the risk, Phoenix.” I said another silent prayer, swallowing around the dread lodged in my airway, and quelled the thoughts that said we needed to stop this now.

“I am?”

“You awakened something in me that first day with your passion and willingness to challenge me. In all my years of teaching, there’s never been a student that came to me not seeking knowledge but to exchange information and ideas. I’d become complacent, jaded even. You forced me to stand up straight and call on all the parts of my brain I no longer used.” My life before Phoenix mocked me now, tickling the back of my neck, calling me home. I refused to turn at the sound of its voice, and I smacked my nape as if ridding myself of a buzzing fly.

“I’d been preparing all my life for it,” he said. “It’s the one area I’m completely confident in. I’m the most comfortable in my skin during your class.” He squeezed my straining biceps. “And here, like this.”

“‘How many are the things a man can do without.’” I situated our cocks and began a slow frot.

“Socrates.” His breath stuttered in his lungs, and his fingers dug in hard enough to leave marks.

“You are not one of those things, Phoenix.” I kissed the corner of his eye, my lips soaking up the moisture that slipped from it. I bore my weight down on him, clutching him to me, inhaling from the spot behind his ear, wishing I could swallow him whole.

                                                                      Review:

*star rating: 5.00 ‘I absolutely loved this story’ stars*

Shane

Do you want to know what it means to live like me?
It means being forced not to look at him, not to touch him, not to be left alone in the same room as him.
Not to seek him out. Not to want him.
Not to love him.
Do you know how it feels to spend your entire life pretending to be someone else? Do you know what it’s like to love someone who doesn’t want to be loved?
I’ll tell you how it feels.
It feels as if you’re living in constant torment: you know which path you should follow, but you also know that, if you follow that path, you can never turn back.
And I can’t do that to him.
Every day I come back, because I know that he’s waiting for me.
Every day I promise him that he will never have to live without me.

Andy

Do you know what it means to live like me?
It means being forced not to touch him, not to kiss him, not to be able to leave the room while he’s still in it.
Not to breathe him in, not to lust after him.
Not to love him.
Do you know how it feels to spend your entire life pretending to be someone else? Do you know what it’s like to love the only person you’re not allowed to love?
I’ll tell you how it works.
You can’t seem to feel anything other than him; when you walk away, you know that you’re turning your back on the only thing that’s good in your life.
Yet you still walk away.
Every day I leave, knowing that he will be standing there, watching.
Every day I ask him to promise me that I will never have to live without him.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

He turns towards me, and I immediately regret getting so close to him, in the darkness, the roads around us almost deserted. No one can see us. I regret even coming here tonight, having watched him for three hours with my stomach in flames. I can’t believe I thought I could do this.

I can’t believe I told him that we couldn’t do this.

Not that it’s easy every day, seeing him in a crowd, always surrounded by friends, or with his family. Paddling around in a kayak, or playing a gig, talking, laughing.

Pretending.

He moves quickly, grabbing my face between his hands and bringing it closer to his, until our foreheads are touching. I can’t feel anything, can’t think, can’t speak; his hands are touching me, holding me against him. His large, warm hands are against my skin. I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed them until I felt their heat again. I didn’t think that wanting them on me, all over me, would be so painful.

And then, Andy kisses me, stripping me of my anger and making me forget why it was even there in the first place.

I grab hold of his wrists as he pushes against my mouth, breathing into me, reminding me of the reason I could never want anyone else.

Andy’s kisses aren’t easy to handle: they’re strong and powerful, fuelled by impatience and uncontrollable desire.

Andy’s kisses are laced with bitterness and silence. They taste of lost nights and bad timing.

Andy’s kisses taste of lies, of shortness of breath. They taste of mistakes and decisions we never made.

Andy’s kisses are pain and regret; they’re anxiety and frustration; they’re darkness and desperation.

I hate Andy’s kisses. I hate them so much that I can’t help but love them.
