Surviving the Break by C.P. Harris
“An Intensely Gripping, Emotional, Addicting, Heartwarming Story”
A massive story with so many undulating emotions, so many beautiful words, and so many distinct reasons why this new release should really be read. Surviving the Break, by C.P. Harris, kind of took over me and left me with so many different thoughts within my own topsy-turvy emotions that a simple review probably wouldn’t do it any justice.
All-consuming emotions formed as a result of a necessary friendship, thereby turning into a staggering love where heartbreak, lust, dominance, jealousy, and, actual kindle-melting heat all sought their own form of dominance as this story overflowed with all of these different types of emotions. My head spun from thoughts of gut-wrenching sorrow, fear, love, confusion, annoyance, hope, and, even more endless blurry-eyed emotions. As this story definitely had it all, whether intentional or not, it all had existed in wondrously impressive flying colors.
Set as the second book of the Chadwick Series, its storyline was filled-to-the-gill with secondary characters heavily disguised as necessary cameos who made the plot twice as addicting. I loved so many of the characters, both two legged and four. But, I also felt there were a very select few who unfortunately just rubbed me the wrong way as well. As many have their own purpose beginning in the previous book, it is highly recommended to read Surviving the Merge prior to reading this one so as to have a complete understanding of the entire storyline.
As a whole, I was glued to this story. That is for sure. I either sat scratching my head in a stunned and confused wonderment while equally wondering whether my kindle would survive a throw across the room, all the while attempting to also read with blubbery heart-shaped eyes. But the confusing times? Yeah, that meant I needed more. More of the actual relationship, more development, more times when the main characters actually had a conversation with their minds and not with..their manhood! Because man-oh-man was there heat. An over abundance of sizzling, and I mean sizzling, moments that even for this reader were a bit too much. #Justsayin
All in all, Surviving the Break, by C.P. Harris, was without-a-doubt a pretty substantial story filled with highly emotional, absolutely smokin’, profusely angsty, incredibly heartwarming moments. I really liked it. 🙂
