The Tiger, the Dragon, and Their Unicorn Omega by Lorelei M. Hart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Tiger, the Dragon, and Their Unicorn Omega (The Unicorn Omegas #4) (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the author for an honest review.
“Through Love and Strength Comes Truth….”
As I sit here once again recalling the books that I’ve read by this author(s), The Dragons and Their Unicorn Omega, The Lion, the Dragon and Their Unicorn Omega, as well as many others from another series, I can’t help but think that this author(s) has quickly become my go-to author(s) for whenever I’ve wanted to read something substantial and of good quality. My most recent read is no exception. I absolutely loved it.
The Tiger, the Dragon and Their Unicorn Omega, by Lorelei M. Hart was quite the read. As soon as I had discovered this new release, all other books took a backseat briefly to this much anticipated read. Was it perfect? No. It did have its flaws, but, pushing those aside was easy to do as there were many other components that made this story one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It is a story with incredibly unique, interesting, heart-warming, and without-a-doubt, heart-breaking moments, many of which had me cringing, bawling, and, actually needing to take a break, as these tough-to-read triggers, were nail-biting parts of the plot. And…let’s not forget those moments when I squealed and cheered whether it be for those yummy secondary characters, or for those angst-filled moments. This story actually had it all. Literally.
I have always loved stories, such as this one, which contained this almost hidden giant-of-a-hero, with these innately gorgeous and unique qualities of a shifter, thereby enabling this character to rise above the rest. I always find myself bawling like a baby whenever these qualities are revealed, and always need to make a mad dash for the nearest box of necessary tissues to ward off loosing any more fluids. The name of the intrepid persona in this case is…Mason. I loved Mason. Gah..how I loved him. Not only is he this unique and majestic unicorn, he is also this incredibly strong and intelligent individual as well. I loved how his character was anything but this dependent omega, but, one of incredible strength. As the title of this story suggests, there also exists a pair of mighty and lovable guardian angels, sent by Fate, who were at the right place at the right time, who I favored just as much. I thought the coming together and need for one another of Mason, Asher and Wilde was great. It was very realistic without seeming to be too fake or filled with too much insta-love. It worked. Their bond was tangible. I loved them and had numerous laugh-out-loud moments, possibly the most out of all of the books that I’ve read by this author(s).
The story was chock full of secondary characters from previous books. And, as I previously mentioned, I squealed. A lot. I found myself to be still emotionally invested in them and was so glad to see them appear in this story as well. Even though they had appeared in previous books for the first time, it was still easy to understand their involvement within the current plot, so it is not entirely necessary to have read the previous books of the series, however, I still recommend reading them because they are still very good. And…as this emotional investment is still quite strong, I cannot wait to see many of them have their chance in telling their own stories in upcoming books, as their preliminary development is already so very gripping.
Despite all of the accolades for this story, there were glitches. Another major run through with the editing process is strongly recommended as there were typos, inconsistencies, under-developed scenarios, as well as complete omissions of major parts of the plot that did make a difference to the overall smoothness of said plot. As I have always been a proponent of drawing the reader into a story whether it be through the actual completed storyline, the plot, the characters, or a combination of all three, in this read, I needed more for the efficacy of these areas.
That all being said, I loved The Tiger, the Dragon, and Their Unicorn Omega, and, found it to be a gripping, heart-warming, and, exciting read that I am so incredibly glad to have read..:)
