“Hot Lattes and Cold Snowmen”
WHOOP! WHOOP! I am so excited to be able to jump into a new release that contains one of my most favorite tropes, and, I am just tickled pink as a result of this new read. And this particular read is a..sports romance. I always seem to gravitate towards stories that have that exciting sports edge, with sweet, absolutely adorable moments, with that subtle edge-of-my-seat kind of exciting additives, all tied-up with such great characters who have me loving them from the very beginning. And..that’s exactly what my new read contained. Score by Jacob Chance, has me so gleefully tickled as a result of this most recent read..
SQUEEE! I loved this story! A friends-to-lovers, slow-burn, low angst type-of-read was absolutely fabulous! The smooth paced yet beyond addicting plot had me voraciously reading as the characters were so nicely and realistically written and were a true joy to read. The writing was spot-on and the added humor had me giggling throughout the read, despite the existence of various surprising moments that were so unexpected that I just had to read them more than once. EEEP!!
Ooooh..*dreamy sigh* There were so many great characters to this story that it simply overflowed with their magnanimous presence. Nolan, one of the main characters, is an absolutely sweet, adorable, mature football star with such a heart-of-gold and I adore him to bits. His new adventure down the college road of experiences is an incredibly heart-warming, emotional and exciting time that I loved getting to experience with him throughout this lengthy read. As a result, I seriously need to squeeze-hug him and put him in my pocket like right now. I liked Perri, the other main character, and had enjoyed her strength, wit, and underlying honesty. I loved the secondary characters, especially the fellow athletes, and found their brotherly attention as well as their added banter to be absolutely priceless and loved their natural inclusion to the story.

While there were so many reasons why I loooved Score by Jacob Chance, in all honesty, there were just some things that kind of irked me a bit. As it seemed to contain a quite lengthy wonderment as to the direction of the relationship, I needed a more rounded display of emotions throughout the story. Additionally, as there had existed a very strong upbringing for one of the main characters, in a particular area, it was very surprising for..something..to be glanced over. Lastly, as it is a sports-themed romance, I would have loved even more sports throughout the story.
That all being said, however, I really did like Score by Jacob Chance, as this story is one of those that, as a whole, has the kind of writing that is just so perfectly incredible that with a smooth plot, super characters, as well as such an inviting setting, has this reader already planning on returning to this series very soon. 🙂
