Wow..I just finished an absolutely beautiful, heart-warming, feel good type of story. I feel like I should be walking around dreamily as I allow the events of this story to settle into my brain, as they are thoughts I do not want to forget. This new release is one of those types of books that will stay with me for a long time to come. Mardi Gras with His Omega by Lorelei M. Hart and Ophelia Heart, is a story from the Omegaverse, where things are a bit different, and was therefore an even more of a welcomed read, as I felt myself actually loving it within the very first chapter. As a result, I now feel like I have cheerful little birds flying around my head with an over-abundance of warm fuzzies which are keeping me all gooey and content at the culmination of this most recent read.
Mardi Gras with His Omega is the third book in the Mapleville Omegas Series, which follows two young men, Brent and Joaquim, who meet at a chance encounter at a Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, and, as the existence of that indescribable pull was breathlessly evident, both men begin this journey filled with intrigue, desire, protection, love, sacrifice, and, dedication. As both men throw caution to the wind, with fate’s guidance and with the help of social media and helpful admirers, Brent and Joaquim grab on to the strengthened hand of the other and as they answer this desired call, begin this wonderful, and, incredibly loving life with that one person that each had been searching for their entire lives..
This story is such a sweet, humorous, somewhat angsty, you’re-rooting-for-the-characters kind-of-read, that I felt myself not only squeeling at various moments, but, I also found myself hoping and wishing for a positive outcome for Brent and Joaquim. I absolutely loved Brent in the previous book, and, was so excited to see that he had his own story. As I read Mardi Gras with His Omega, I continued to love him with his adorable quirkiness and felt such joy in seeing the love for his family develop into this deep-seeded love that was so wonderfully developed and could be seen as this love that seemed to wrap its own arms around his newly formed family. I also felt such a loving sense of pride for Joaquim for his experience in the medical field that I was not surprised what-so-ever with his insurmountable amount of kindness and love for Brent..
Having also read the prior book in the series, it was such a joy to see cameos from the characters and felt like I was visiting with old friends. I loved the storyline, because you know..alphas and omegas. ‘Nuf said about that.. The plot had me immediately hooked with its scented-form of insta-love, and, with its hint of angst, had me reading without wanting to take a break. While there wasn’t a complete development to the characters, there was just enough to positively contribute to the overall smoothness of the story. That being said, along with minor seemingly unresolved issues, I still enjoyed it, and, didn’t want it to end..
I am loving the writing style of these authors. Even though there are some typos within the story, and I had to re-read for better clarification, at times, it was, once again, an enjoyable and welcomed read. I absolutely loved the characters, found the storyline, plot, and the setting(s) to be realistic and well written, and, thoroughly look forward to reading additional stories from this world, where their depth will no-doubt pull me in as this story did as well. 🙂
