All I Know (Paradise Beach #1) (ARC) was graciously provided to me by Give Me Books PR for an honest review. I have voluntarily read this book and have provide my honest opinion.
A Sweet, Heart-Warming and Hopeful Story
A sweet, endearingly heart-warming story of two young long time friends, each carting different types of heavy secrets, reconnecting after so many years. All I Know is a perfect summer read for those days spent at the beach, the pool, or even the lake as its summeresque type-of-setting is perfect for those types of special moments.
All I Know, by Tamara Lush, is an all too brief-of-a-story, especially for this reader, as its storyline is a profoundly tender and hopeful one filled with a secretive love and devotion having been hidden by both of the main characters, Damien and Kate, for years. As the story jumped right into their budding relationship, one couldn’t help but feel their love simmering right under the surface, enticing this reader for more of their story. Despite having a past stemmed by the beginnings of a protective love, both Damien and Kate went their separate ways to later in life finally answer the insistent calls of Fate. Finally.
I really liked this story with its heartwarming storyline, main and secondary characters, families, twins, super character names, gorgeous settings, and, also let’s not forget..wonderful male characters. Even though I had felt like I had stepped right into an already-existing relationship, and I felt like I needed to play catch-up, their relationship was clearly a touching one. As both characters were shy and quite nervous about expressing their true feelings, despite my incessant encouragement to express themselves, it took quite a bit of the story for their emotions to be expressively revealed. And..it was a beautiful thing..:)
As All I Know progressed quickly, yet somehow slowly, it had blossomed into quite the passionate and uplifting display of emotions, one with very little emotional angst, but with a whole lot of hope and true love. Because of this, speaking for this reader, I had so very much needed more development from the earlier part of their relationship, including all of the difficult times that both had endured in high school, perhaps as a flashback, as its development, would have been beneficial for a smoothly connected pace and plot. In addition, even though readers will need to wait *gasp!* for the continuance of Damien and Kate’s story in future books, I couldn’t help but also feel there were many loose ends which were either glanced over or left open for possible future books. And that ultimate ending? Well..let’s hope the next book will come very, very soon..:)
