“A Math Geek, A Well-Meaning Friend, and a Nurse Walk into a Bar…”
Did you ever come across an author, or an author writing duo, who turn into must-reads, and each time a new book comes out, everything else falling to the wayside? Yes, I just came across that type of scenario. I dropped everything and began reading the most recent release of my new go-to reading author/duo. This new release, that I had the pleasure in reading, is a great, feel good type-of-read. I fell in love with the characters, couldn’t turn away from its mysterious, suspenseful, and, sad moments, was tied to its resulting heart-felt angst, and, had hot-under-the-collar fits of giggles, as I made my way through the humorous and heat-filled sexy moments.
My most recent read, “Birthday With His Omega” by Lorelei M. Hart and Aria Grace, was my fourth read from this talented author(s), and, it certainly will not be my last. I absolutely loved it. Throughout reading, I thought the words seemed to flow smoothly as they began to morph into a story which was congruently cohesive. I was thoroughly entertained by not only the developing plot, but, also of the chemistry of all of the characters, not just that of the mc’s. Was it perfect? No. But, to me that didn’t matter for the most part, because it collectively all came together like a beautifully wrapped present that I couldn’t wait to open.
I absolutely loved this story. There’s no denying it. I found the storyline to be not only beautiful, but also one in which had me hoping and rooting for fate to find its success in the end. Even though there were some moments to the plot, despite being gripping as well as addictive, which were a bit confusing and warranted a re-read, as a whole, were smooth and complete. Albeit a bit rushed. That being said, I still loved it because it all worked beautifully. I loved the characters, and, actually squealed a bit when the cameos began, as many of the characters from the previous books made steady appearances throughout this particular book. I welcomed the high-pitched cacophony of noises, built as a result of a mixture of gasping-squealing-laughter-tears, as a result of reading about them once again. I felt as if I was a part of the story, as the writing was on point and pulled me in with that famous alpha-omega pull leading the way. I felt the magnetic and invisible pull even through the pages, if that’s even possible. While I had wished for more character background and definitely more development, at times, that which was written was super great.
The characters were fabulous. Have I mentioned that yet? Yes, I’m pretty sure that I did. I definitely need more of the mc’s. I need more of the secondary ones as well. But, for this review, I’m talking about Ren and Thad. Gah..as I read, I felt like I needed to squeeze-hug both of them every other second because they were just that sweetly yummy. Their kindness and dedication to friends and actual strangers was incredible. Their story was realistically perfect.
While I loved this story, clearly, the existence of a smattering of typos, slightly confusing moments, and, the need for more development in various areas, collectively it was a great, great story with characters whom I absolutely loved, a well-developed storyline and a smoothly written plot, that will have me returning for a re-read very, very soon..:)
